The people behind Calcitax

Varun Arora

Co-founder

Varun has over 10 years of experience in tax, accounting, assurance and financial reporting in Canada and India. At a Canadian accounting firm he prepared personal, corporate and trust tax returns (T1, T2 and T3) and year-end financial statements under ASPE for small businesses. He previously ran his own accounting practice in India for six years and today leads the accounting function for a group of Canadian companies.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in India with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2016.

Priyanka Puri

Co-founder

Priyanka has over 9 years of experience in public accounting, credit analysis and banking. At accounting firms in Surrey she has prepared financial statements, personal and corporate tax returns (T1, T2 and T5) and payroll filings, including T4s and records of employment. Before moving to Canada she spent nearly eight years in senior credit and financial analysis roles at two major Indian banks.

She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in India with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2015 and holds an MBA in Finance from University Canada West.
